Sikh Wedding Photography at Gravesend Gurdwara - Preeya & Kuljeet

We love when we are asked to provide Sikh wedding photography at the elegant Guru Nanak Darbar Gurdwara, Gravesend. The Gurdwara is absolutely beautiful and is very popular.

Every time we have the pleasure of photographing there we try and create something new. It may be an angle we have never shot from before or a different lighting set up. Ultimately we want to create beautiful, timeless images which capture the story of these special days in all their splendour uniquely for each of our clients.

On this beautiful sunny British autumn day, we covered the union of Preeya and Kuljeet. We were referred to Kully by Tony, who is Kully's cousin and one of our friends.

On this day Preeya and Kully become husband and wife, cementing their union in a traditional Sikh wedding, the Anand Karaj. The four hymns of Laav are performed during the four nuptial rounds of the Sikh wedding ceremony. Each Laav describes a different spiritual stage of married life, ending with the soul-bride and divine groom realising their ultimate destiny as one soul.

The day started for us in the early hours of the morning (which is very common for Indian weddings). We both headed off to different parts of the country to cover bride and groom morning preparation.

As wedding photographers, we capture the day naturally, as it unfolds. The storytelling is from our unique position from behind the lens.

Along with the natural coverage, we created beautiful editorial styled bridle portraits of the bride and unique couple portraits which reflect the Style of Sikh & Dread Photography.

We would like to wish Preeya and Kuljeet all the best for their future together and for trusting us to photograph their most beautiful and special memories.
